Garden of Earthly Delights

The Garden of Delights is a  mural I painted with Grace Woods over winter 2017 in the backyard beergarden at the Record Crate in Glebe (34 Glebe Pt Rd)

This page brings together the posts and some pictures of the mural and its creation. The painting is based on the racy Bosch altarpiece of the same name - I can only imagine the sermons travelling preachers gave when they set that thing up for a performance - before it was snaffled up by Philip of Spain and sent to the Prado. The scene is an assemblage of Glebe locations and views but a dream arrangement and peopled with rock gods and figures lifted from Bosch and inventions inspired by his, like the fish parrot and kangareet

Thanks to Belle and Neville for commissioning this, having the faith to let us paint on their wall
