Robert Smith

A rough and ready beginning of a painting. Thanks Robert for the photo

Cabarita Production Unit

Where ICI produced chemicals, property developers now cultivate residents. This is the first coat of paint. Thanks to Robert Smith for the photo

Martin Walshe and Janet Venn-Brown

I went down to Martin's in Woolloomooloo yesterday to draw another portrait of 92 year old artist Janet Venn-Brown. She lived for many years doing street art in Rome and elsewhere, her memory is failing but it sounds like a pretty wild ride.

A couple of years she retuened to Australia and retired to an apartment in the Cross. There is another drawing of her here

Camperdown Park

A little painting I started this afternoon in Newtown. It's kind of a study for the painting I will be doing in the foyer of the office beside my Newtown last supper at Newtown Mission

Concord Fragments

Outside a cafe near the Post on Majors  Bay Road.

A fragment of Robert's backyard view - the roof next door and frangipani branches festooned with the strange dangleweed Rob has been cultivating, a kind of hanging air plant, with a silvery green colour like a lichen.

I went out to stay overnight and work a bit at Concord about a week ago, but I've had a cold since I got back, so I haven't posted them till now

I've also started a couple of paintings out there, a landscape of the bay, and a portrait, but I haveno photos as yet
