Stone Cold Fox at the Bearded Tit

Thanks to Gersh who bought this drawing. A really poor quality photo so the drawing is a bit hard to see

Piccolo Tales

Piccolo Tales at the Piccolo Bar, with Vashti Hughes and Vitorio

A warmup drawing from across the road

The first act

Tales of misfits and junkies, GIs and drag divas, in the little asylum set up by refugee migrants blown into Kings Cross by war

Vashti as Vito at 80, with the audience, and(very sketchily rendered) Vittorio heckling himself

Apologies for the slightly crappy image quality. My scanner just died and while I find another I'm using a phone camera

Skip

A portrait of Skip from Saturday night. My scanner just died(hint, hint) so this is a relatively crappy image from an android phone camera

I've done a few portraits of Skip, including one here from ages ago, and another more recent street portrait I haven't found yet. He's also in the people's corner panel of the Newtown Last  Supper at Newtown Mission

Valerio and Joey

Grace, from a photo at my birthday dinner a few days ago

Drew and Mitch

A few portraits from Saturday night on King St. My scanner died as I started to scan the other drawings I did on tonight so I'm glad I remembered to take a few photos for once.

If you are in or near Sydney and have a scanner to give away that is reputed to work with xsane, please let me know, I could swap an artwork

RIP Chris Retallack

Irina Rey on the harp fragment with Brett Sense Elliott delivering the eulogy for Chris Retallack at his studio in Petersham

I think I met Chris at Pine St when I exhibited there in 2004 and  2006, and he always had something interesting to say, a good raconteur and often helpful.

Last year Angel Scales put some paintings in an art gallery scene I helped pull together for Doctor Martin, a soon-to-be-released movie. Chris came along to be an extra (and also brought some paintings for an art squat scene that was never shot).

He saw we had not yet organised exhibition catering, essential in creating the scene,  and quietly took charge, bringing his wine flutes and so on for free, in a typical gesture. Rest in peace.
