Marguerite Montes and Peter Urquhart at the Record Crate

Playing their regular tuesday night show at the Record Crate - well worth a visit, songs from the heart, drinks and great affordable food

With some of the audience - backs of their heads - including Robert Smith and Charles Freyberg

Peter playing guitar for a moment

A loose sketch of Alison Marshall and someone else

scribbly trees out the back

Robert Smith's bumcrack drawing, I'm not sure who it is of, but it reminds me of someone I know

Broadway building site

A few more figures in the foreground

I've been working a bit more on this - it would make a good set for Attack on the 50 Metre Woman

Very windy today as I was working on this, so I left earlier than I'd wanted

There's some paint on most of the canvas now, but still a lot more to do

new cores are going up at the front of the Central Park site where the Kent brewery was so I'd better not dawdle on this piece

The City from Glebe

This looking a bit more finished

This a painting I started last year on a friend's balcony but never quite managed to finish. I've shown it at Buzzbar. Now I've started painting it a bit more from photos I took at the time

Glebe Point Road

The view from the Record Crate just before dark. The cow suit person was a bit too far away to draw much of, the girl in front was handing out promos for the Thai restaurant

Rough Edges

Ye Naing drawing, as well as Tim, the back of Linda's head and a couple of other people.

We're going to have exhibition at Roughies like Rough Art, which I helped Grace and Tamara organise last year. With maybe Grace organising. So that's exciting. I'll post dates around when they are arranged

Tina Cheong at work - She had to go before I could finish, she's disabled and a driver brings her in and then takes her back home. There are a few of her paintings hanging at the Buzz cafe in Newtown(formerly Buzzzbar)

Marguerite Montes and Peter Urquhart

Playing their regular tuesday evening show at the Record Crate, Marguerite Montes sings songs of life accompanied by the amazing Pete Urquhart

With some of the audience

Rich, who does great affordable food, with Neville - Mr Crate - and his mate

Drunk Drawing at the Crate

Christian and a lot of people whose names I've forgotten out the back at the Record Crate in Glebe on a busy night

Camperdown Park, Newtown

I started this painting in August but then got a couple of nasty colds in a row so I didn't get out on the st to work on it until yesterday - all the plane trees in foreground are sprouting their leaves, and the picture has become a sort of winter-spring time lapse

Finger Pointing

Our fearless leader points his finger at someone

Brash Ice - Goodbye Waves

I'll keep working over this a bit more

Brash Ice is rubble and slush from disintegrating ice floes. There is a lot of it this arctic melt season as a warmer ocean is stirred up by storms and ice melts from beneath. Before it disappears the slush gets washed around into fantastic chaotic patterns by currents and eddies.

I've just started this little painting, I'll add more images above as I finish it

! The Athenian society of the Pericles era was not far from the decadent style of our own western dream reality !
The Parthenon marbles survive in pieces stored in the British Meuseum , saved from the Ottoman barbarism or enslaved  for profit - Opinionrs differ
They may had Not survived if it wasn't for Elgin 's extreme zeal for antiguites market , that destroyed him at the end .
Or , they could still be there aged gracefully with the rest of Acropolis
Point is that Now they are where they are and the chance is given to Return to their original environment .
A new state of the art enclosure of the whole area has been in place since late 90s with a new Meuseum and there is No excuse about the well being of the marbles anymore finding any grounds in the global mind
The pyramids of Giza belongs in Giza
The Parthenon marbles belong on Parthenon . ! Looks empty without them

Thanks to Charles for letting me use his flat while he is overseas for a few weeks. I started this little painting there today
