At Wannita's

Lizzie, Flynn, Noel and Wannita in Wannita's kitchen

We were there celebrating life becauseWannita has just got the painting that she commissioned from me, of the first ever block of public housing in NSW, in Balfour St Chippendale.

She lives there.

Matt fiddles at the table, watched over by stray fragments of eyes and ears, mostly Wannita's, otherwise Tariq

day 4 - The Anthony Parkin dreaming

Hory, ? and James with Anthony's head above - slightly distorted, he's a hard person to pin down

Hamming and pulling faces  - mesmerising the audience

Job Network recruitment course day3

I haven't got my day 2 drawing, sold it to the teache(what a suck!)

 Hypnotised by Anthony's Quiff

Some of the class, including James(directly under the quiff)- I'll find out the other names

Our recruitment consultant Anthony is such a ham. And while It's not edge of your seat entertainment, things have definitely improved since day 1, devoted to defining categories of recruiter. And he knows his stuff

David(?) and Jody and someone whose name I'll try to find out wait to watch a movie that never came. At Employment Plus(the blessed Salvos, real faves of mine) staff can't access 'social media', meaning the people supposedly finding me work can't see any of my work, even the Last Supper mural I created, ostensibly as a volunteer under their tutelage

I say ostensibly because they never got the paperwork in order, no OHS inspection was ever carried out etc etc. I guess that means I don't have to credit them;)

A very tedious seminar

Anthony hamming it up in front of the whiteboard

How many hours can it take to define the role of a recruiter? (Quite a few apparently.)What does the commonwealth - or at least the carnival of clowns in Federal government - conceive mutual obligation to mean? ...

We were asked for some feedback and some of us gave back our anecdotes of bureaucratic ineptness and nasty bloodymindedness. For flavour, here are my own - having an appointment booked for a public holiday, and being breached for not attending(haha, so funny), and then, a fortnight later, ringing from my sister's deathbed to tell them I could not get from Dubbo to Sydney for an interview I had 2 hours later that day and explaining the circumstances , and was told someone would call me to rebook. Instead I was breached again. Gabrielle died later that day. This isn't ancient history, less than two months ago.

Thanks to Anthony, our teacher/recruitment consultant of Jonkin Consulting for bringing home to us just how hopeless the Salvation Army are at their supposed task here - finding decent work for the unemployed(rather than collect a fee to impose Rupert Murdoch's psycho-sexual pathology on the poor)

At the welcome atm and other weekend drawings

A whole troupe of guts in animal suits turned up on motorcycles to have an icecream at one of the motorcycle gelato shops on King St.

Although there are not a lot indications of animal suits in the drawing, sadly

My camera has gone insane, probably terminally, so here are details of 3 A2 drawings, it's too insane to try to put 4 A4 scans together to reassemble them

Fake sun traffic lights.

2 different people came and asked - "I can see what you're drawing, but where is the sun?"

Over the door of the tanning clinic, of course
