All in the Name of Liberty: Tables and Woodwork

Some images and links of tables and other rustic furniture I've been making at the Junkyard from Shamus's piles of salvaged timber. Thanks to him and Andy and everyone down there.

Some of the pieces are finished with linseed oil and others with polyurethane - I'll leave it to you to guess which is on what, or follow the link beneath the image or sequence of images for that and other info and images of their creation. A 2.25 metre long record cabinet for a couple in Newcastle, who are setting up home with their baby, and starting to build their LP collection

The legs and the bearer under the plywood floor are from pieces of Australian hardwood and most of the rest of the frame is oregon, the doors are from an oak bed head and end, the back is an assortment of floorboards, mostly variety of hardwoods and some southern hemisphere pine. The top is made of Australian red cedar(a piece of a step from an old cedar staircase), oregon(the spectacular knot from a plank) as well as pine, oak(the bed again) and more cedar including a strip of US western red cedar(a totally different tree, a conifer, while Aus cedar is a subtropical rainforest flowering plant)

Apart from the plywood all the timber is salvaged,
