moorhen

Alongside the ibises, there are a bunch of urban moorhens living around and on the pond at Victoria Park (by Sydney Uni). Representatives in the Parliament of Fowls. These birds have incredibly long toes for balancing on and dancing across the waterlilies.That's maybe worth a painting as well

 

I'll be exhibiting the bird paintings in a group show(as many as I can fit -the Parliament triptych is huge  in November with artists including Celia Curtis and Ben Cahill

 

 for balancing on and trotting over lilypads, maybe worth a painting on their own

This is a view from out front of Ochredfern Gallery, which I painted during Visions from Underground , my recent exhibition  (from March19-28)
