At the corner of City Rd and Broadway. There are earlier versions of this painting here
The price is eternal vigilance. Liberty in Danger. Some find it in danger, some see liberty in danger right now. We demand liberty, where our desires are our own, not the manufacture of some marketing or political brainwasher. We examine some of the threats - the way that words like freedom and democracy are used to name their enemies! And we aim to enjoy our liberty and have some fun.

Blueshound at the Old Fitzroy
I went down to my local @oldfitzy to see if anything had happened with my painting of the pub that's hanging there. I didn't get around to asking about that, but I saw [sorry, I forget yr name!] and Joe playing their first show as Blueshound

At Rough Edges - Purple Heads
Mitch , Linda and Mama Mea at Rough Edges in Darlinghurst.
I didn't have a pencil in my bag so I resorted to a purple one from the set on the art table
There's a lot of artists who come along to Roughies. I'm hoping to take part in another Rough Art show, maybe in October. Last year we made $200 or so for the art table and a bit of cash for some of the exhibitors, and a chance to show for everyone, regardless of their capabilities

Mervyn and Floyd
At the art table at Rough Edges in Kings Cross.
It looks like there may be another Rough Art show like the one last year to pay for a few more materials for the people who come along.

Gabrielle Parnaby
I think I'll leave it at this point(I did a bit more to background after taking the photo, so I may replace this image at some stage - but it will be hard to see the difference in the photo, it's hard to see the changes from the version immediately below.
There are some other images in memory of Gabrielle on my portrait blog
This is just about finished now
The nose is a bit small but it's not irritating me as much as when the paint was wetter, and I remember past dramas resulting from trying to fix faces in portraits. The hair and background are still unfinished
Here's a start on a painting,
I've started another Gabrielle painting which I don't have a photo of yet. These are a couple of drawings I did to get started

Jonny's Averagely Legendary Birthday Bash
For the third year running I drew portraits of guests at Jon the Pom's birthday pub crawl from the Gladstone to Bar Broadway. He has a whole sketchbook full now.
This portrait of a guy whose name escapes me and whose inscription I can't decipher - it was about 3am by then and the deal involved a few(hic) free drinks - is in my book because there was no paper left, I'll hand it over to Jon when I see him.
The last 2 years I've included slightly crappy photos of the drawings taken at the time but my phone got smashed a couple ofdays ago so I didn't get any this time, hopefully I can borrow the book sometime and get proper scans of it all.
Happy 52nd Jon

I even got a lovely lecture about how I, and all the other artists, should be paid much more - and if you can please chip in to the paypal donation thingy in sidebar.
Here is the Nambucca Mermaid I painted last time I was in Nambucca
