Black Tower!

 A half finished painting I started a couple of years ago. I needed something for the Outlook landscape show at Newsagency Gallery starting tomorrow(14/06/2024), so I picked it up from where I left it at Martin's place, and took it home to work on. I had photos I took in 2022 when I was working on it on site

Alongside the ibises, there are a bunch of urban moorhens living around and on the pond at Victoria Park (by Sydney Uni). Representatives in the Parliament of Fowls. These birds have incredibly long toes for balancing on and dancing across the waterlilies.That's maybe worth a painting as well

 

I'll be exhibiting the bird paintings in a group show(as many as I can fit -the Parliament triptych is huge  in November with artists including Celia Curtis and Ben Cahill

 

 for balancing on and trotting over lilypads, maybe worth a painting on their own
